Future-proof Decision Making

We make around 35,000 decisions every day. These decisions shape our lives, our careers, and our future. We all want to change, grow, adapt, learn, and improve. The only way to do that is by changing some of the decisions we make every day. And yet, we know so little about the physiology and mechanisms behind how we make decisions. This session will explore how our decisions impact others and how we can make choices that benefit not only colleagues, customers and other stakeholders, but also keep everyone engaged and working together efficiently. You’ll learn the key aspects of decision-making, how to improve the quality of group decisions, and ensure long-term alignment and efficiency in the direction of your decisions.

Topics Covered

  • Customer-Centric Decision Making: Actively involve customers and co-workers in the decision-making process from inception to completion. Prioritize clear communication and transparency to ensure everyone's needs are understood and met.
  • Effective Communication of Decisions: Develop strategies for clear and inclusive communication about decisions, ensuring all stakeholders feel heard and understand the rationale behind choices.
  • Deep Democracy Principles: Learn how to utilize the principles of Deep Democracy to create a safe and inclusive space for all voices to be heard. Explore techniques for surfacing and addressing minority opinions to cultivate greater understanding and buy-in for decisions.
  • Physiology of Decision Making: Understand how stress and other physiological factors impact decision-making.
  • Personality and Decision-Making Styles: Explore different decision-making styles and how they influence your choices. Identify personal biases and learn how to navigate potential pitfalls, especially under stress.

Outcome:

  • Cultivate customer-centric decision-making skills that prioritize customer satisfaction and long-term success.
  • Nurture collaboration and inclusive communication within teams using Deep Democracy principles to ensure all perspectives are considered.
  • Develop self-awareness regarding personal decision-making biases and learn to manage stress effectively.
  • Enhance communication skills to clearly articulate decisions and their rationale to all stakeholders.
