Shishani is a multi award-winning and internationally touring artist whose versatility in music transcends genres and cultures. Their work expresses a strong sense of social consciousness and intersects between research and art performances. Shishani is a vocalist, guitarist, songwriter and producer loved for a soothing and powerful voice. Shishani has founded various musical projects highlighting globally marginalized perspectives, offering inspiring counter narratives as seen in their work with Namibian Tales, Sisterhood, Shakuar and Miss Catharsis. Shishani’s musical research focuses on Namibia’s cultural heritage merging influences from Namibia into an original mix of influences from Africa, soul, RnB, hiphop, jazz, indie and folk music. Shishani is Namibia-born, Amsterdam-based. Through their work, these worlds come together. Shishani’s vocal sound has both a mystical lightness and the power to pierce the soul touching listeners around the globe.
